Does EARN have jobs in the private sector?
EARN posts a wide range of jobs from both the public and private sector, spanning all types of industries and occupation levels. The type of jobs you receive will depend on those posted with EARN. Our job postings are updated daily.
Where can I get assistance and information about making accommodations for veterans with service-connected disabilities?
Each situation is unique and we recommend that you work with your jobseeker to determine which accommodations are needed. There are many resources available to help you plan and fund accommodations, including the Job Accommodation Network (JAN), which offers free and confidential consultation. You can also find more information about Accommodations in the Tools section of EARNWorks.
Please remember that while it is up to the employer to provide the accommodation, it is the responsibility of the employee to request them. Your jobseeker should inform their employer of an accommodation request, and the three of you can then collaborate on a plan to supply that accommodation.
Are there any special preferences for veterans with service-connected disabilities with federal contractors?
Currently, there are no special preferences for veterans with service-connected disabilities with federal contractors. While the federal contractors are required to give veterans first preference when applying for jobs, they are free to hire the most qualified candidates, regardless of veteran status.
Which other veterans’ services organizations are you working with?
EARN works with a variety of veterans’ services organizations, including the Department of Labor state veterans’ services organizations, Vets Centers, Veteran Affairs, vocational rehabilitation and employment services, and REALifelines. EARN can be your single-source for communicating and working with all of these groups. Sign up today.
